Fellows are distinguished members of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association who make impactful contributions to the Bar Foundation through their pledges. They are nominated by their peers, recommended by the Fellows Committee of the Bar Foundation and approved by both Foundation and Association Boards. Fellows status is bestowed on those who demonstrate professional excellence, the highest standards of integrity and a commitment to the advancement of justice in greater Cleveland. Lawyer nominees must have been admitted to the practice of law for 10 years, while other nominees must have an equivalent level of experience.
Fellows contributions are dedicated to the Bar Foundation Endowment. The Endowment provides a steady stream of income into perpetuity for the Bar’s life-changing programs positively impacting our community in the areas of youth and workforce development, access to justice, and nonprofits and the arts.
The Fellows Program is overseen by a Bar Foundation board committee. Nominations of new Fellows are first considered by the Committee. The Committee then makes recommendations to the Boards of both the Foundation and Association for approval of nominees. Â
