LSAT PREP SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Mission Statement

The goal of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s LSAT Prep Scholarship Program is to improve inclusivity in the legal profession. Through a coordinated series of professional workforce development programs for students from northeast Ohio, funded by the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Foundation, the CMBA has been working to remove barriers to college, law school and the practice of law. The LSAT Scholarship Program will eliminate an identified barrier for many of our region’s college students or graduates pursuing law school admission – access to effective tools to prepare for LSAT success.

Through a partnership with Kaplan, a trusted leader and innovator in LSAT education, the CMBA LSAT Prep Scholarship Program provides aspiring law students with scholarships for a top level, comprehensive LSAT preparation course, including 12 months of access to live and on demand instruction, current materials and practice tests, and one-on-one tutoring sessions with an LSAT expert. 

Who Should Apply?

We invite applications from individuals who:

  • Have been raised, educated and/or are living in northeast Ohio;
  • Have a demonstrated commitment to the CMBA’s core value of conscious inclusion, as evidenced by real life experiences, academic achievements, resilience in overcoming obstacles, and or proven DEI leadership.
  • Are currently enrolled in or have graduated from a four-year college or university;
  • Have a genuine interest in pursuing law school admission as evidenced by a commitment to complete the LSAT prep course and sit for an upcoming LSAT; and
  • Demonstrate financial need. 

 

Alumni Scholars from the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s Louis Stokes Scholars Program and Stephanie Tubbs Jones Summer Legal Adventure are also strongly encouraged to apply. 

What Does This Scholarship Provide?

Live Online Instruction

  • 32 hours of core Live Online classes with a team of expert LSAT teachers
  • 120+ hours of supplemental, elective instructions available on-demand on The LSAT Channel to provide students with personalized instruction.

Full length Tests and Test Review

  • Every official LSAT question ever released (9,000+) included in the Practice Library organized by question type and level of difficulty for your personalized practice.

Additional Resources

  • Gain access to the digital practice subscription tool from LSAC, featuring 70+ real exams in the official Test Day interface. Students can sign up during checkout at kaptest.com or through the LSAC website.
  • A complete LSAT Student Kit: LSAT Lesson Book & “The LSAT Unlocked: Course Edition,”
  • Access to online assets upon enrollment, duration for a minimum of 12 months from first class session

How Can Someone Apply ?

To apply, applicants must complete the CMBA LSAT Scholarship Application and submit the form by email to [email protected]

Application Review

Applications will be reviewed by a panel of CMBA and Bar Foundation board members and professional staff.  The decisions of the panel will be final. Candidates will be evaluated based on their academic achievements, academic and/or professional recommendations, economic need, work experience, community service and personal statements.

Promotional Rights

By accepting a CMBA LSAT Scholarship, successful candidates give the CMBA, Bar Foundation and Kaplan the right to use their names in any promotional materials relating to this program without further notification, permission, or compensation to the recipients.
