The Environmental, Energy & Natural Resources Section brings together attorneys and professionals focused on environmental law and the evolving issues shaping energy and natural resource regulation. Reflecting the breadth of the practice area, the Section provides a forum for engagement across disciplines, including legal practitioners, environmental consultants, government representatives, and industry stakeholders.
Through CLE programming and regular meetings, the Section supports ongoing education on developments in environmental law, policy, and regulation. Its annual Environmental Law Institute and additional programs throughout the year offer timely insight into emerging issues and practical challenges facing those working in this space.
In addition to its educational efforts, the Section contributes to the CMBA Bar Journal and supports initiatives that connect legal professionals with the broader community. A longstanding focus of the Section is its support of law students pursuing careers in environmental law, including funding opportunities through the Environmental Law Student Scholarship. These efforts help provide access to hands-on experience in public and nonprofit sector work while strengthening the pipeline of future practitioners.
Through its programming, partnerships, and community engagement, the Section fosters professional development while supporting meaningful impact in the environmental and energy landscape.
