The Real Estate Law Section brings together one of the CMBA’s largest and most active groups of practitioners, providing opportunities to stay informed on developments in real estate law while building connections across the industry. The Section’s membership includes attorneys from large, small, and boutique firms, many of whom are recognized for their expertise at the local, state, and national levels.
Through regular meetings and CLE programming, the Section offers timely insight into legal and business issues affecting real estate practice. Its signature two-day Real Estate Law Institute, now in its 47th year, is a cornerstone event that brings together leading practitioners and industry professionals for in-depth education and discussion.
In addition to its educational offerings, the Section maintains strong ties to the broader real estate community, with members actively involved in organizations such as ICSC, NAIOP, MBA, CREW, and GCREO. The Section also recognizes outstanding service and leadership through the annual Bob Rosewater Memorial Award, presented at the Institute to honor long-term contributions to the Section, the profession, and the community.
Through its programming, industry engagement, and recognition of excellence, the Section supports professional growth while strengthening the role of legal counsel within the real estate sector.
