The Small Firm & Solo Practitioner Section is designed to support attorneys who manage and operate their own practices, recognizing the unique challenges and opportunities that come with running a small firm or solo practice. The Section provides a space for members to connect with peers, share insights, and access resources tailored specifically to the business and operational side of legal practice.
Through targeted CLE programming and regular meetings, the Section focuses on practical topics such as marketing, business development, technology, and practice management. Its annual Small Firm & Solo Expo, held each September, serves as a signature event offering education, tools, and connections to help members grow and sustain their practices.
In addition to its programming, the Section offers a dedicated Small/Solo e-Community, providing members with an ongoing forum to exchange ideas, ask questions, and stay connected. The Section also contributes to the CMBA Bar Journal and fosters opportunities for both professional development and peer support, creating a strong network for attorneys navigating the realities of small firm and solo practice.
